Spey Bay Salvage was initially formed in 1995 as a vehicle dismantler and second hand parts supplier.

As part of this operation many hundreds of tyres required disposal, this was getting increasingly difficult which prompted operations manager Richard Murray to explore the options.

Following a great deal of research and many meetings to discuss the viability of the options and finding disposal was a National problem. In 1999 Spey Bay Salvage sourced and purchased the necessary equipment to recycle tyres for alternative uses other than the non environmentally friendly option of burying in the ground at landfill sites.
